Life Enthusiasm

I am a self-proclaimed Life Enthusiast, so I’ve been thinking about how to define that.

Presumably it means different things to different people. We all have our own lives and stories, after all. We have different values, and what is important to me might not make sense to you.

Other than the details, I think we (you, me, and fellow Life Enthusiasts) can uniformly agree that enthusiasm for life is something similar to passion. In fact, it is probably interchangeable with the term, “a passion for life”. A zest for life… I do love the word zest…

So what are you passionate about? What in this life gets you all enthused and zesty when you experience it?

Food is a big one for me. It’s such an easy playground to experiment with. Food comes in a multitude of colors, shapes, sizes, textures, and of course – flavors! Food can provide variety, but it can also provide familiarity (i.e. comfort). It is such a multi-tasker, don’t you think?

But life is so much more than food. I mean, at least a little bit.

Music can transport you to a new place, a happy memory, or a hopeful future. It can present you with sounds, ideas, and rhythms that are new to your brain – and that makes your brain happy!

Art in any form can move you into a creative state that allows you to experience life in a way that is beyond that day-to-day grind that you are so used to.

Identifying new birds, listening to a natural stream of water, smelling wild honeysuckle bushes, laughing with friends (or with yourself!)… there really is so much to be enthusiastic about.

Pay attention; these things are all around you. And I know you have things that enthuse you that I haven’t even thought of yet!

Life is a blast – let yourself have some fun with it.

Cheers to you and yours, xoxo

Life is a blast.

I have a great desire to bring the ordinary to life. I think life is at once more beautiful, and more simple, than we have been taught to believe.
