- 3 bananas
- 1/4 c flour
- 1/4 c cornmeal
- 1/4 c quick oats
- 1 tsp baking powder
- any spices you’d like!
- any add-ins you’d like!
I had 3 old bananas. Do I have enough life experience to know what to do with them? Yes. But did I want collaboration on my Saturday Banana Project? Yes!
I took to social media – Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook (I love you guys):
“What should I do with these 3 old bananas? #recipesuggestions please!”
The results were beautiful – people suggested banana bread (always a good choice), freezing them for smoothies (which I often do), banana pancakes (yes). Someone shared their own favorite “hot banana cereal”, another shared a recipe for a banana upside down cake, someone else suggested a fancy pavlova dessert!, and so on.
It wasn’t just the suggestions that warmed my heart, it was the connection.
I know that social media gets a bad rap for being shallow, fake, or a cesspool of creeps and weirdos. But we can’t lose sight of the fact that it also brings us together (creeps and weirdos excluded…).
It’s never just about the food. It’s about us – you and me, doing our thing, and celebrating the little things.
If you’re into Facebook, and would like to join a food-loving group, please visit here. Recipes, photos, and events are held in this group – lots of friendship and fun. Please feel free to check it out.
Until next time, loves.
xoxo
